I've heard that there are a lot of elk around Flagstaff. I see the elk crossing signs on a regular basis. I've been left wondering, where are all of the elk?
I see deer frequently - a few times a week - but I hadn't seen any elk. As I was leaving the museum today, I glanced to the side of the road where I often see deer. As I passed I realized that the animals were too large to be deer.
Elk! Sure enough, after I turned around and then pulled over I was treated to three elk just hanging out.
